Course Overview
This course provides delegates with an introduction to the knowledge of safe working practices, the dangers surrounding and the precautions required to avoid potential injury when near Electric/Hybrid vehicles.

This qualification offers an introduction to this specialised industry sector which in addition to complimenting their current industry qualifications and experience, will more importantly enable them to continue to work safely within their role.

Who is the course aimed at?
This course is for anyone who has an interest in gaining the knowledge to work safely within the automotive industry as it continues to see an increase in Electric/Hybrid vehicles entering the workplace. These roles can include but are not exclusive to:

  • non-technical staff
  • customer facing roles
  • claims handlers
  • managers
  • valeters / detailers
  • parts advisers
  • sales and after-sales advisers
  • event staff
  • vehicle damage assessors
  • Electric/Hybrid professional vehicle drivers

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and delegates are not expected to have any prior knowledge or experience, however and interest in the subject area is advisable.

Location
For groups larger than 6 delegates, this course may be delivered on site subject to location and availability.

Course Content
The content of the course will provide delegates with the knowledge required to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles. It contains one mandatory unit covering the following:

  • The types of Electric/Hybrid vehicles available
  • Hazards associated with motor vehicle high energy electrical systems
  • Working safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles including charging

Delegates successfully completing this course will acquire significant core knowledge of working safely around, but not maintain Electric/Hybrid vehicles.

This course will help support progression onto other qualifications listed below to further develop their knowledge of either working safely in emergency or recovery situations or within a technical role carrying out routine servicing and maintenance activities on Electric/Hybrid vehicles.

  • Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Hazard Management for Emergency and Recovery personnel
  • Level 2 Award in Electric.Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities
